Short courses

The teaching will be centred on practical furniture projects. Each course lasts four to six days, with students progressing to the next level as their competence and confidence increases.

Beginners — level one

At this level, no prior knowledge or skills in furniture-making is assumed. The beginners course will take students from the basic understanding of tools and materials through to the making of one of the following projects:

Level one projects

  1. games board
  2. shaker candle table
  3. decorative box

Intermediate — level two

These courses are for students who have progressed from the beginners level and wish to further their skills and understanding of furniture-making.

Central to the course is the making of one of the following three pieces of furniture.

Level two projects

  1. shaker side table
  2. demi-lune table
  3. dining chair

Short course dates

These courses accommodate both Beginner and Intermediate level students.

  • 18-23 August
  • 25-30 August
  • 1-6 September
  • 27 October - 1 November

Course fees

Short courses: £360 for six days.
